i bought this toy for my 18 month old son, i was looking for something inexpensive yet educational and fun to do. i was not disappointed, the blocks are the perfect size and weight for my son, he loves to stack them and tumble them over. they are very lightweight ( a plus since children tend to hit each other with blocks!!) yet very sturdy, i actually tested one out by standing on it and it held very well! the only thing that i could think of that could be a negative is that it takes some time to fold them together ( it took me 30-40 min) but it is definetly worth it, i would recommend it to all parents with toddlers.

The blocks are made of weak plastic and do not lock togther. I purchased them so my two year old could build a big castle or towers as he does with smaller blocks. These do not lock together so the structure never stays up well. Also the limited tyoes of blocks in the package don't allow you to create anything much.

I gave these blocks to a friend who has a one year old. I believe younger children would benefit from them more but even they might become fustrated becuase the blocks don't go together unless you do it perfectly.

Giant Building Block 40-piece Set

These are great blocks, sturdy for their size and easy to put together. Our grandson is only one, and just enjoyed knocking them over, but we expect lots of fun with them the next few years.

Because there are so many smaller blocks in this set, we also bought a separate set of 16 large (red) blocks. This provided plenty to build a rather large structure, and even the adults enjoyed building with them.

I was surprised when my 9 year old daughter asked for Magnetix for Christmas. I was even more surprised when they were a hit for the entire family! Even I got some enjoyment out of forming the various geometric shapes. What's even better is the shapes can be used as a mathematical teaching tool. The magnets are powerful, but they need to be in order for the shapes to stay together. I will definitely be buying more so we can extend the fun!

I played with wooden blocks when I was a kid and bought these for my 3-year-old son. He loves them. They are simple, but he can let his imagination run wild building (and tearing down) all sorts of things.

My only minor complaint is they are smaller than what I expected.

Magnetix keep my 13 year old busy for hours, and he becomes so creative with them. He had a small set given to him by a friend so this set was a real treat.
