My son went through the entire Lego website to pick out which Lego he wanted to purchase with his own money. He is a 6 year old who took a Lego engineering summer camp, where he learned to build all kinds of cool Lego figures. This is the kit he decided upon and let me tell you, he plays with it everyday for hours at a time. He would rather play with Legos than watch tv, which in today's world is fantastic. He not only put together the entire kit himself, but takes it apart and makes new figures out of the pieces. Some of the pieces are rather small, so he has needed my help snapping them together, but overall he is able to read the directions and put the pieces together independently. Mega Bloks Aroara Bronze Armor Light Dragon

This is a surprisingly fun toy for the price. The chest lights up depending upon which armor you put on it - blue or green. And you can make it light up without the armor. It does assemble so some care would need to be used when playing or pieces might fall off. But for the price, it's been a worthwhile purchase.

My grandkids, just 3 and under 2, love these big blocks. They're a nice change from wood blocks. They're easy and fun to stack, and this set has enough to keep them busy. For serious building I'd buy another set. The kids throw them and knock them down, but the blocks are amazingly durable. A few were dented when one of the kids stood on them, but not badly. We're all happy with the purchase.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe 50-piece Wooden ABC/123 Blocks Set

I recently purchased these blocks for my 11 month old son. He liked them immediately. The colors are attractive, and he loves to build and stack. I like the fact that they are painted with non-toxic paint-so they're safe for baby if he puts it up to his mouth. The only downside is that they are 1x1 inch square, which is kinda small for a small child-but since either my husband or I are actually playing blocks with him-it's okay. I have watched and I don't think he could actually get one lodged in any way, but I still supervise.

My son is 3 years old and just bought the item which is well made. One improvement toy designer can make is instead of using just wood which slides down the boards, could use magnets and magnetic boards that hold the tile work on it. I would also place the puzzle in more functional box, there is no lid, container could be better. I'd buy it again

LEGO Star Wars AT-AP Podwalker

This is one of my absolute favorite set of star wars legos, even though the podwalker isn't much of a prominent vehicle in star wars. What makes this set so much fun:
-Lots of rare/interesting parts
-A Lego technic skeleton over which the vehicle is built (which enables some of the unusual angles)
-Incredibly cool-looking legs

LEGO® Indiana Jones Jungle Duel

The people and some of the props are cool, but it's sort of an annoying set. In our house we like to play with our toys, the tent is a really cheap pain in the butt, it seems to always come off the little frame, it's hard to get the lego dudes in and out, there is no floor to the tent either. The other bits are okay, nothing that really excited us. The table slides together so that he battling people can break it in half. My son was disappointed, he saved his allowance to buy it and it was not as grand as he thought it would be. I suppose you could glue the tent but what's the point of a lego set you can't take apart and put back together. The people are cool.

LEGO Indiana Jones Race for the Stolen Treasure

Very cool WWII era Jeep and truck. Comes with 3 'German' troops, Indy and a horse. Mine was missing the cover for the back of the truck, but I contacted Lego and they replaced it within a week or so. Since Lego does not do military models, this is pretty close.

Ultimate LEGO DUPLO Building Set

Bought this for my 3 year old niece. She uses this set everyday. The pieces are large and easy for a young child to handle. The other day she called to tell me that she was making a Lego castle for me :)
