I purchased this camera for my grandaughter for Christmas. This camera is not Kid Friendly and is not easy to use. The LED light is only usefull as a prop. Features are diffucult to use and despite all our efforts all the pictures are VERY DARK and unusable even in well lighted situations. Upon trying to connect this camera to our PC (High End Dell XPS with XP Pro) we discovered that the driver necessary for the camera is not included in the software. MGA refers the purchaser to Arcsoft the software supplier for support. There is no support apparent. Emails to the company produce a response indicating that the driver is not available on the net with a promise to mail it to us. There is no camera support on the software site and only ... This camera is a nice idea however it isn't worth a dime. The camera is durable but my daughter only used it once. She got it shortly before we had our second baby. She took pictures of her new sister and none of the pictures were worth printing. My daughter is a natural photographer and was disappointed to see her pictures on the computer look so bad (blurry, grainy and dark). Now we let her use our camera. Hopefully they make a much better kids camera because the idea is a good one. Don't waste your money on this camera. It would be wiser to do your research on cheaper digital cameras and get a regular camera instead. From our experience cameras take a beating and continue to work. There was a problem with this particular camera. I ordered 3 others for my triplet granddaughters, and so far they seem to be operating satisfactorily. The blue camera however keeps hanging up and stalling. So my grandson is very disappointed. Also, the video card can't be read by a smart card reader. You have to download using the connection from the camera. This is a pain since a lot of their pictures are blurred and poor.

This is a fun toy for a kid infatuated with cameras. My daughter plays with the camera a lot but I can see her potential for getting bored with it too. The sound effects are okay ("say cheese" for example) and may actually help your child be more patient and stay still when you try to take their picture on a real camera since they learn the process of picture taking, e.g., it takes some time to take a picture. The only downside is that you, as a parent, will spend a lot of time reloading the "pictures" into the cartridges after your child has taken all the "pictures". I'm also not sure if your child peels all the stickers off if you can buy more "pictures" to reload in the camera.
