I also think the German advantage is a bit overstated. Yes, the Germans only need to hold 1 city & have more Tanks, Infantry & Artillery. However, the Allies have Air & Naval support which balance out the game. In fact, in the few games I've played, the Germans are considerably outnumbered in troops near the end of the game. That's probably necessary for the Allies to actually take control of the cities. A cohesive strategy is necessary for an Allied victory. But, nothing but a total victory is good enough for the Allies. It's a challenge.

Hasbro/Avalon Hill has finally produced a game on this significant battle and much in line with the movie from 1966, this version features the rationing of supplies as a key part of the game. There are no Germans dressed as MP's, and the road signs do lead to Malmedy! The method of German victory is to acquire more territory than the actual historical results. The Allied player need only prevent the German conditions of victory. Game mechanics are slow, plodding and very hex concentrated with lots of tedious steps for each hex. In fact it may bore the average player. The dice roll situation is pure insanity! Star Munchkin

Being a card game, you don't get much in the way of "durable" with a Munhkin set, but at least the cards are coated. I've rescued games from spills, wiped them all down, and had no significant damage.

Lots of players who prefer fantasy will rate the other Munchkin games far below the main Munchkin set, but give it a chance! This one is funny, with lots of references to things we all know (love or hate) from various space themed programs - and treats none of them as sacred. It also combines well with others - try shuffling Star Munchkin together with The Good, The Bad, The Munchkin (western theme) a combo lovingly named after a certain tv show and movie. I did this recently, and it was a big hit with my friends!

A 3-D game for one to four players with six options that use spatial and intellectual abilities. Constructing multi-level structures results in mind building and surprise challenges. Smart choice for adults too. To me, somewhat pricey but am glad I bought it.
