We were given this for Christmas 2 years ago when our daughter was 2 yrs. old. She was alittle young for it then;but, since 3yrs. old she's been a big fan of this game. She's 4 now and it's a favorite w/ her friends when they come over. They always pull out this game. Mom and dad have fun with it too. Of course, she still doesn't really play by the rules BUT who cares? She's having fun and we always get a great laugh too! Even at age 3 she has been good at acting out the cards...thinking of making up some of our own. I found the quality to be good...Have given and will give it again as b-day gifts! :)

I Spy Private Eye

Since both my girls loved Briarpatch's preschool I Spy game, enjoy I Spy books and even the I Spy show on HBO, I figured this would be a sure fire winner. And you know what? It was a winner for everyone except me because it made me realize my memory is horrible.

The game consists of picture dice, a timed shaker and game cards. The player shakes the dice then has a set amount of time to study them before covering them back up. The player then draws a card and announces which items (s)he recalls from the dice. Any opponent can challenge them and take a chance at stealing their card. Wow, I was quite amazed at how fun this game was and how it can teach my four year old her alphabet. She's known her ABCs since she was two (not bragging, just her strength) and knew her phonics before she was three. She was still challenged by the game.

There are two levels of play: beginner and advanced. We played two games at beginner level where we covered the entire board. It was a bit overwhelming at first with all those pictures to look at but she got the hang of it within minutes. They were long games and my daughter was getting a bit tired. She had fun finding things on her board and then on mine. I know the older she gets, the more fun it will be for her.

Pirate Bomb Blast - A Pirates Life

I ignored the reviews and bought this for my son's pirate birthday party. We played it as a family before the party and had fun but it was a dud at the party. With the noise from about a dozen kids you cannot hear the "explosion". Cute idea but should be louder.

Double-Sided 9-Number Shut the Box Game Set

I was raised with a shut the box game and that's how I learned how to add in my head. When my father died, I got his game. I now have three of these (9, 10, and 12) but this is my first shut the box for two players. I know I hated waiting around for my turn when I was a kid so now the grandkids won't have to wait and they will learn math the same way I did!

Gobblet Junior

This tic-tac-toe take-off is extremely fun. Don't let the "JR" fool you. It is simple enough for my 5YO yet challenging enough for any adult. Each player gets 6 "gobblets" (2 small, 2 med, and 2 lg) to play with. We learned very quickly that part of the strategy is figuring out which size pieces to play first, but it is also important not to just "gobble" each other up since it is easy to gobble to the point where each player has just two spaces on the board. Since "gobbling" is so much fun it is hard to resist over-gobbling.

This is a top-notch game, very fun to play. The gameboard and pieces are all wooden and attractively decorated. Even the box is very sturdy. This is a fun and welcome addition to our collection.
