These are great! The mini-twistables are about the same size as a regular crayon and fit well in little hands. They stop my daughter from making a game of breaking crayons while letting her use the narrower crayons she prefers. Being able to write with just one end reduces errant stripes on my table.
I only wish there was a washable option! These are our main crayons for my 18-month old. The washable crayons seem to be softer than regular crayons, and it seems like the plastic housing would give them extra protection.
My daughter already had a set of Silky Crayons--when we needed a birthday gift, we knew Silky Crayons would be perfect! Thanks for a great shopping experience!

I bought this product for a 2 1/2 year old as a mess-free alternative to crayons and paints. I believe this is the marketing angle. With that in mind: The soft sticks crumble when they are colored with. For young children who may turn them up too far, they break off in larger chunks as well. The Color Wonder colors do not appear as soon as the product is applied to the paper. There is a bit of a delay which ended with my child scribbling harder which caused more crumbling. The material the soft sticks are made out of is somewhat greasy. Although they may not mark some surfaces, I still don't want this greasy material mashed into my sofa.
My daughter does enjoy playing with this product but I don't enjoy the mess. So if you ... Read More:

If you've never used beeswax crayons get ready to be amazed. They are so soft and supple to color with. It's an entirely different feel from the standard Crayola.
They aslo hold up much better over the years and the smell is simply delightful:)

When I was little, I'd get a new box of these every Christmas. Sometimes it was just a box, sometimes it was one of the Christmas tins, and sometimes it was a creativity set (like the old art caddy or the case of crayons). I actually toured the Crayola factory in 1994 (when they still let you into the actual factory and not the automated ride) and let me tell you, these guys are well-made.
You won't find better crayons than these. I've used Prang, Rose Art, the generic kind...nothing quite matches up. The 24 count is a good sized box for almost anyone, it has a good variety of shades.
Be an American. Buy Crayolas for your kids. It's an American tradition.

I purchased these for a children's event that I volunteered to do face painting for. All I used was a small container of water, a paper towel to blot off excess and a mirror for the kids to see their designs when done. No messy brushes! This kit had all the vivid colors I needed and I just sharpen them with a pencil sharpener when the tips get dull. Glides on skin easily, blends in and can use one color on top of another. They dry quick too. Easily comes off skin with a wet wipe or soapy water.
