Many years back I built an extraordinary dollhouse for my own personal use and enjoyment, and everyone who sees it can't say enough good things about it. My older granddaughter, a few months shy of three, is much too young for that dollhouse, which has very delicate furniture and furnishings. I decided to build a very sturdy dollhouse for Jordan, and to furnish it with good, durable, plastic furniture. I was particularly attracted to the Dora dollhouse furniture line, not only because they appeared to be very user friendly, but mostly because they had things that would enthrall a small child. As a homeschooling mom of 7 I can authoritatively say that Melissa and Doug products are the best. So sturdy and durable but realistic at the same time. Read the book The Doll People (or listen on tape) while your little ones play. With these accessories my 3 littlest girls (6, 7 and 9) imagine that their dolls are real and play at night with all the of the food, plates, silverware, and use the lamps and toys. You can't go wrong with this company all around.

The quality of these pieces is exceptional. It would be difficult to find so many pieces, for this price, at a hobby or craft store - let alone such well made ones. We have a Victorian dollhouse (not this brand) with Melissa & Doug furniture, which fits perfectly to scale, so the accessories really complete all the rooms. The shelves included with each set already have an adhesive strip on the back! These are nice for kids and collectors alike. It would be great to see seasonal or holiday dollhouse accessories by Melissa & Doug, their products are always wonderful. Dealing with Gummy Lump Toys was a great experience, too!

I purchased this item at the fisher price store which sold for $17.00. I can understand wanting to make a profit but this is highway robbery. The amount that's being charged for this item is unjust and morally wrong.

My daughter bought this for her grand dollhouse she received from her grandparents. Very cute and goes well in that dollhouse. However, the price listed here on Amazon is way out of line. If you pay more than Fisher Price's list price of $12, you're crazy. We paid $10.95. The $49.95 listed here is a complete ripoff.
