The illustrations are simple and engaging, the textures are varied (both within a book and from book to book), and the wide-ranging adjectives in an otherwise repetitive text make these books good vocabulary builders.
Can't recommend this enough for babies, toddlers, and even preschoolers.

It's very simple. A little mouse runs around trying to find his monster, each monster is wrong for some touchy-feely reason.
Very striking, simple pictures, very easy text for little babies and toddlers. Any child is capable of sitting through this one!
I do find that two of the pages stick together, probably because of the texture used on the paws ("bumpy"), and I am continually disappointed that the rough horns aren't very.

My daughter and her friends love this and they are 4 and 5, even the older kids like this (8). The only thing I wish is that the water pin lasted longer before you have to and more water. I give it an A.

My 10 month old twins adore this book. I've had to read it multiple times a day for the past 5 months, and they enjoy looking through the pages on their own as well. The textures are great- my daughter will press her nose against all the different fabrics or try to lick them! She is also going through a stage where she chews on books, and this one is able to withstand her teeth and is still intact. I can't recommend it enough!

I purchased this book because I like the idea of having a place for the class pictures as well bigger pockets. I received the book and was disappointed in the high school years sharing 2 pages and 1 pocket. I had a book like growing up and that's where all my report cards and awards are. If I had only one pocket for all 4 high school years all of that wouldn't have fit. Again - it's a nice book just a little disappointed in the lack of space for high school years.

We fell in love with this game. I chose it because of its similarity to Taboo, but now, instead of being hung up on not using the words on the Taboo list, you have to be mindful of the amount of words you use to describe the words on your list. The name of the game is 25 Words or Less, in which you have to describe the five words on your card in 25 words or less. But, there is a twist. There is a bidding process in which two people look at the card and bid against each other to see who can describe the five words using less words. For example: The list contains the words: Lion, Tree, House, Balance Beam, & Courage. Two opposing clue givers will look at the list and proceed to bid. Person A bids 25, Person B bids 24, Person A bids 23, ... Read More:

I purchased this book to help me see a better way to really implement differentiated instruction into my classroom. It was of great help in giving me real examples and ideas to putting differentiation into action!!! =)

We live abroad and so our kids' English isn't up to the level of their peers in the States. We'll be moving back to the States this coming year though and I wanted to be able to see where exactly my kids stood vis-a-vis their English skills, so I could then work on the areas they needed help in. I bought the reading and writing books in this series from grades 1-4. The books are not only an excellent tool in tracking where your child needs extra help or where his strengths lie - they are also loads of fun for the kids. With these books and some extra effort on the kids' part, I feel confident that we can get them at or near the appropriate level for their age by the time we move. No more guessing about what material to cover or whether particular ... Read More:

My 5th grader loves vocabulary and has always been above his grade level. I have noticed that it is sometimes harder to find ways to increase his vocabulary. This workbook is great, it teaches the Greek/Latin root words and combined with his already great vocabulary he sees the connection with words. I work at a University and know the importance of what is required for him as he progresses in his academic career. This workbook doesn't "push" him, it just opens up gread discussions in our home and makes the dictionary a bit more of a friend!
