Yeah, it is a little different from the original game back in '79, including AA batteries versus 9V, but it is still addicitve. Nice to have in the car or plane.
My son received this as a gift when he was was 3 (he's now 10). He played with it for countless hours, and even got the adults playing too, seeing who could get the highest score on "beat the clock." My two younger children have also enjoyed it, it has taken a lot of abuse over the years and is still going strong. I am thrilled it's still available because we love giving it as gifts.

I bought this game for my then 10yrs old that was back at christmas 2006. The hand held has held up great to this day. yes there are updates but that has been few and far between. It helps if you have a very fast connection so that when the hand held syncs with the online world it wont take long. The virtual world is the best part of the hand held. my son plays for hours on end and always wants to go back for more. there have been a few times when the site was done but that to has been few and far between. I gave this a 5 star for a great virtual world to play in and the hand held being a great device. The key to the success of this hand held is a very fast connection to the internet.

When I first got this, I thought it would be great since it had the back light. However, once the 2 AAA batteries start going, not only can you barely see the card numbers (unless you tilt it about 80 degrees away from you), but the light doesn't illuminate anything. There's just this faint glow. I much preferred the older version that used 2 AA batteries, had a backlight but also shut down not just the game but the light as well--when not in use. That was an AWESOME feature. Bring back THAT design. Sometimes it's just not good to "improve".

This was a stocking stuffer for our 9 year old daughter. She was so excited and played with it for a while. It's cute and has some good features... but it didn't hold her interest long. Other kids may play with something like this more though. Our daughter is more of a outside / sports kid. It is a great size for kids to take with them places to give them something to play with.

This toy looked like a lot of fun and was priced reasonably so I ordered 2 of them for gifts, the 1st one I gave and it didn't work, so I thought it might be the batteries, which it was, but the kind of batteries that it requires was more expensive than the toy. The 2nd one also had batteries that didn't work, so buying new batteries (and finding the right ones, the ones on the instructions were impossible to find)make the toy pricey.
