We have Animal Art Studio and Dora. My daughter loves this and is learning from it. This seems to be the most educational game yet. I would recommend it.

It's a fun game, and the kids play with it. But definetly not that great. It pretty much is the same driving course, with different math questions.
Good if you child is a Cars Fanatic. But I highly recommend Sonic over this one for 5 - 6 year old. If you child is younger - maybe 4 - than this would be appropriate.
I bought the Leapster L-Max for my son who is 6 yo. He loves it. Literally will not put it down. The first one we got just stopped turning on after 1 1/2 days use. Thought it was dead batteries but it wasn't the issue. It was not dropped or abused in anyway. My son is very careful with his toys and b/c he loves this one so he was especially careful. Returned to TRU and exchanged a new one. He has used it for about 1/2 a day and then we tried to plug it into the TV. Couldn't get that to work properly. So he tried to go back and use it as a hand held, and now the volume won't work. No sound. I got a pair of headphones for him to use until I can return this piece of junk. I guess we'll just get the regular Leapster and give that one try. I'm appalled ... Read More:

My grandson loves the Vtech books. The pages are easy to turn and he likes the interactive buttons. I purchased this one not realizing it was recommended for 3 and up. It has a button for each letter and you can switch between saying the letter, the sound of the letter, and a word that starts with the letter. It will also read the story on each page. While I think he would enjoy pushing the buttons at 18 months, I am going to wait to give it to him when he is showing an interest in learning his letters. I want it to be fresh and new to him at that time. Meanwhile, he can enjoy the other Vtech books I have purchased for him.
My 5 year old loves this cartridge. I have had to limit the time playing with the Leapster, and now with just this one game. He would play this one exclusively. He keeps thanking us over and over for getting it. He was already pretty strong in the math area, but he has learned some new concepts with the game.

I almost didn't buy this because of the review that stated it was hard to get the shapes in. But, I really wanted to have a shape sorter from the Laugh and Learn line, so I tried it.
This toy is great! Has darling songs, and my 1 yr old son has learned to get the shapes in the right spots without any problems, and the shapes go in easy and without any of the problems the other reviewer had.
One of the best features is the cookie jar lid. It helps keep the pieces inside, perfect for easy clean up! This has been one of my sons favorite toys this year!!

My daughter has had this phone for about 2 yrs. It has grown with her. At 1 - she liked the lights and sounds (and could chew on the antennae without worry). At 2 - she knew what sounds came from which button in all 3 modes. Now at 3 she is listening to the words and repeating them and thinking about what it all means. I leave this in the car and it's her toy when we are on the road. I love that it has French and Spanish on it as well as English. It's never too early to introduce other languages. We had tried a few other brands before we found this one and by far this one is the best. Batteries last forever in it. This would make a perfect gift to expecting parents.

My 4-year-old daughter loves the Disney Princesses and was so excited when we bought her this game. As another reviewer said, however, there are only three games which are too easy, repetitive and boring to hold most kids' interest. My daughter played the game once and hasn't touched it since. This was definitely not worth the money and unless someone gave it to me free, or we borrowed it from a friend, I wouldn't bother with it at all.
This game was for my 5 year old. She gave up quickly as it is very difficult to control and even more difficult to understand the voice that tells you what you are supposed to do. She knows her numbers and was just using the level where all you have to do is shoot the number it tells you and then shoot the gems that come up. Even if you know the answer and are able to understand the voice, controlling the ship to shoot the answer is another story! I'm 29 and have had a bit of gaming experience in my life. I tried to play it several times and also had a lot of difficulty controlling the ship and understanding what was being asked of me. It would be educational if it were easier to play but it is just frustrating.

The product has several pieces that are interchangable and it goes along with the other sets from Leap Frog that are similar. We have the Music and the Lite Ups and the big play set.
