These pieces light up which gets my granddaughters attention and she loves to interchange them with her other sets. She enjoys all the pieces.
We shopped around for a decent price but though pricey, we paid 80, it is well worth the money. This toy is not only a favorite for birthday parties but still is played with weekly by our 3 yr old and 1 yr old. Our boy uses it as a ramp for cars, a bridge for toys as well as a way to sing the abc's, and my girl is learning her textures and how to place the ball in the shoot. If there is only one toy you buy this year, it should be this one.
I bought this for my son when he was 2 years old. He is now almost three, and plays with this toy very rarely (not even once a month). I expected that the toy would work differently than it does. Each cookie has a number on one side and correlating candy chips on the other side. The side with the number has a raised circle. The circle gets wider as the number gets higher (the number 10 cookie has the widest circle). When you place the cookie in the jar a lever inside the jar is pushed a certain distance, depending on how wide the circle is. That is how the jar 'reads' what number cookie your child is putting into the jar. The only problem is, when my son puts in a cookie too quickly, the jar thinks it is a different number. The toy plays ... Read More:
This product has a great educational value. The cards are great, I wish there was stuff like this when I was growing up. My five year old loves this. The technology is relatively old, given the more advanced products, CD-roms, etc on the market. The biggest strenght of this product is the educational cards that are designed by education professionals. Recommended.
bought this as an interactive music activity for my 3 year old. he loves it...and so do i! it sits on my coffee table and entertains just about everybody who comes to my house. comes with 6 different playing pieces that each have multiple tonal possibilities. as you place each piece on the base, you end up with any combination of electronic percussion, bass, and sonic possibilties. in addition, this process automatically creates its own little accompanying light show.
from a learning perspective, it's amazing to watch my 3-year old go through the process of listening to and changing sounds. i'd highly recommend it to anyone...even if you don't have kids!

My grandson is 9 and developmentally disabled his minds age is about 2 or 3, he loves to sit in my car seat and act like he's driving so I though it would be perfect for him,I thought the toy was very good to help with his motor skills and and other lacking skills, and also to entertain him away from just watching TV and listening to the music he loves. He doesn't like to play with toys but he liked playing with this one. I think any child would get a kick out of it, I like it. I would buy it again.

Another creative innovation by Imaginarium which gives kids a chance to practice material that may already have been covered in their textbook but which they may still need to review.
I won't say that this exactly makes learning FUN but it definitely adds some variety and even some challenges that keep kids interested. More importantly, it is geared to specific textbooks and has learning tips and directions to help kids who are confused, a review of chapter material, new problems to practice, etc.
I found this worked best (at first) with parental supervision but a highly motivated student could use it himself or herself.
What IS wonderful about the Flyware system is how it can be used for either fun OR education, ... Read More:
