My daughter just turned 4, and I got her Leapster 2 for Christmas. I decided on Ratatouille first, since we have the movie and games seemed suited to her abilities.

Graphics are not great, but work fine. Voices are identical to those in the movie. There are 5 games on the cartridge: sorting items into categories (by color, by food group), matching items (memory game; match letters, numbers, colors, shapes), cooking (choosing ingredients, adding them to pot, mixing, setting timer, putting on icing; includes 'create-your-own-recipe'), catching things (they plop from the ceiling and Remy needs to be moved around to catch the appropriate ones), and surfing through sewers (also a catching game: catch specified items while avoiding ... Great idea, but poor quality. Minutes after starting to use it, something came loose and regardless of how many times attempted to fix, would not work again. Some buttons worked and others did not.

Purchased this fame for my daughter who is age 4. She really likes the game and has a lot of fun with it. But there is no warning that once you play so much (which is not very long) some of the mini games stop working. I thought the game was broke until I read what other reviewers had to say. Also the game instructions tell you that the game gives you the information to answer the questions to win the animal but I haven't heard the answers while she has been playing the game. I usually help her with the questions b/c some are too advanced for her age -- but it does help her learn.

My daughters both love to bang the maraca that sings on anything and everything. They love watching it change colors and get excited when it gets through the colors or up to ten. I love how it can be changed from English to Spanish. It's been beaten up countless times and still functions perfectly. I just have one complaint - what is the deal with the non-singing maraca? The kids don't pay a bit of attention to it. In fact, I couldn't even tell you where it is right now! If both of them sang, it would be a perfect toy in my book.

My four year old is able to navigate and learn with very little assistance from Mom & Dad with set up or play. At first, we had to force him to allow us to assist him as we ensured he was truly grasping the learning skill. It explained everything to him and he was able to be independent.

Purchased this for my son whose original smart cycle cartridge was lost in our recent move. He (5) and his brother (3) both enjoy playing. Somehow manages to for hold his interest even though he also got a wii for Christmas.

My 4-year old son received this game as a Christmas Gift and enjoys it very much. He is able to insert and start the game by himself, and likes to play from time to time throughout the day.

I got this for my four year-old niece for Christmas... She's a SpongeBob fanatic, so I was pretty sure I couldn't go wrong. She immediately popped it into her Leapster and played with it for the rest of the day. She was pretty focused on the Crab Claw game and seemed to really enjoy it... After I told her to stop and listen to SpongeBob count the money she was dropping into the machine instead of just throwing it in until it switched to the claw... well, she was learning something without realizing she was learning... which is the whole point to this "edutainment" thing, right?

The animation, itself, is a bit lacking, but it's SpongeBob and Squidward and the whole gang... and that's all she needs to have a good time... and learn ... Read More:
