My 6 year old loves this puppy--we are unable to have a pet in our apt. so this was the closest we could have to the real thing. It's not near the level of interaction of having a real dog but my daughter's imagination more than makes up for that; She likes the idea of emotions and lights the pups displays and really doesn't care that it doesn't do "traditional dog-like actions". It all depends on what your child's expectations are for this toy that will determine the enjoyment value. For those who need a replacement bone or battery cover you can go to [...] and type in "mio pup" in the search window and it will bring up a page with the order form.... the cost was reasonable also. My daughter played with her neighbor's Littlest Pet Shop a lot, so her sister bought it for her for Christmas. However, the product has been a little disappointing - my daughter says the buttons don't always respond to pressure and acts like the battery is low, even though it's brand-new. She also received a Tamagotchi pet the month before for her birthday and is still playing with it everyday and going to Tama World on the Internet; it seems to be the better choice.

However, the product has been a little disappointing - my daughter says the buttons don't always respond to pressure and acts like the battery is low, even though it's brand-new. She also received a Tamagotchi pet the month before for her birthday and is still playing with it everyday and going to Tama World on the Internet; it seems to be the better choice.

This has been a fun item for my 6 year old who loves animals, but I would not recommend the "my epets" website for anyone over age 8. However, the "Webkinz" website has much more to offer as far as learning games/tools and just is a more diverse site in general. My epets would be great for ages 3-8. The item that I received from Amazon.com was in great condition. THANKS!

However, the "Webkinz" website has much more to offer as far as learning games/tools and just is a more diverse site in general. My epets would be great for ages 3-8. Perfect Petzzz Chocolate Lab

I ordered this for my 4 and 6 year old boys, thinking this would be a good play pet for us. The lab is cute, but it is hard as a rock on the bottom. Other than the breathing the pet does not move at all... it is a lifelike statue. It is not at all a cuddly stuffed animal that a child could take to bed. It may be fine for an older adult, but really not a child's toy.
