This VSmile game is very age appropriate for younger children (ages 2-5). It is easy to figure out how to play and easy to play. It is a great beginner game for young children that need to learn how to hold the stick or control the vsmile. It is a very positive game that quickly became a favorite at our home.
Received as gift for holidays, and am very used to electronic handheld games and their use. This one's screen was very difficult to use or see, despite changes in the contrast. It also has no back-light, with limited instructions. Not user-friendly, don't waste your time with this one. I returned mine to the store of purchase. Thanks,
Tara the Tarantula provided loads of fun for my husband, who is an entomologist. Seems to be anatomically correct too! My cat, who is too sophisticated to play with most toys, suckered for it too -- at first recoiling, then chasing it!

My 4 year old daughter loves this Vsmile game! I agree with the other reviewers who say it is more appropriate for age 4-5 instead of age 6-8 and that it is not extremely educational. She has no trouble operating it without parental involvement and this is her first electronic game. It captures my daughter's attention and keeps her entertained! I bought her the Vsmile and games mainly for when we take car trips. She's only had hers since Christmas but we took a 3 hour car trip already and she played this game the entire trip! A great introductory electronic game!

I realize this is a "toy," and toys are generally thought to be for kids.
This misconception causes and undervaluing of toys, and of play, and unfortunately deludes the marketplace.
It manifests here in the fact that these fellows turn off after 4 minutes, so if you want them to stay on and run across your desktop, you must turn them back on every four minutes. I have 6 cubes total, and do plan to purchase more, so that is 6 button presses every four minutes. Multiply that by however many groups of four minutes there are in an hour, or however long you want them on, and it becomes a lot of button pressing. I miss a simple on/off function.
There are other things that could be included in these units, things ... Read More:

I bought this walker for my son, first he was just crawling and pushing it, now he is almost 11 months and he just walks with it on his own, he can turn it now in the direction he wants to go and loves it. It is very stable and durable. Music and colors are fun. You can adjust the volume if you need to. YOu can take the attachment off and put in play yard with a baby as well. It was a great purchase and really inexpensive. When your baby will start walking by holding on to the walker you will need to help him because it is a little bit light so it will roll too fast, but once a baby is more confident you will not need to hold it for him/her. I think it is my favorite purchase for my son.

Okay, I'm not one to write reviews normally, but I had to for this one. Either my daughter is a genius, or this "game" is LAME. Although she is 2 1/2 and has known her alphabet since she was 2, and has been able to count to 10 even before that, I thought maybe this would be fun for her to try. First of all, two of the "games" aren't games at all - the shapes one is just a video of a bird drawing 4 shapes, and then it's over. No interaction at all. The animal one is just lessons on different animals, and the joystick controls which animals you view, but it's not a game either. The alphabet game only teaches a few letters, and that's it. You would think it would teach all 26, but no. The "feeding the pig" game counts to 10, but doesn't do much. And the ... Read More:
