Wow, what a bummer. We have lots of Melissa and Doug toys, and I've always been very happy with their quality and durability. This one however, is shameful! My first clue should have been as I was taking it out of the box, the top layer of cheap wood splintered off. Had I bought it in a store, I'd have taken it right back. This was a birthday present for our daughter though, and bought online, so I thought "Well, it's just one strip of wood." Our child loved this toy right away...that being said, within the first week the entire area of blue wood began splintering off. All over the floor. Not only could my daughter have choked on a piece, but she could have scraped or cut herself, etc.

LeapFrog® Leapster® Learning Game: Batman

My 5 year old LOVES this. He's not a Batman fan but loves math (go figure). Once he mastered the basic controls and concepts with help from dad he did it on his own. It presents good game action with good guys and bad guys and presents math problems at different user-settable levels. The problems are addition, pattern matching and fill in the blank with the game designers doing an excellent job of making these interesting. I highly recommend this game/toy for those kids that like math.

It's fun and seems like an amazing idea for the first week and then you get bored of it. However, I am a teenager. I'm sure younger kids could get a lot of use from it and have fun with it for a very long time, but I got bored of it after about one or two weeks. Some of the apps are kinda fun, which can greatly add to its entertainment value.

I was surprised to read that others had trouble with this case for the original Leapster. Ours fits just fine.

I did deduct one star as I would REALLY like more cartridge storage and additionally that it is more secure than a piece of elastic.

I got this game plus the Click Start computer because my 2 year old loves playing games on nickjr.com. I was hoping to lure her away from the computer with this game. But it really does not compare to the games on nickjr.com. The graphics are like Atari-days - giant pixels. And the games just aren't as engaging. She'll play with it for a couple of minutes and then asks to go use the real computer.

Math Whiz

My 5-year old just started Kindergarten, but LOVES math (which they will only really cover a little of sometime this year). I bought this for him after his first day of school (he's "earned" a toy, and the one he planned on wasn't available). He choose this instead. He loves it. Its easy to use, even for one not too accustomed to computers, etc. He has had trouble with other electronic toys that try to get him to answer in X seconds, but loves that this tells him how long it took him, but doesn't pressure him to get it done in a certain time. The progression from easier to harder on the levels is great. He was "way past" some early levels, but he could do some mid-levels and still be challenged. Skwish Classic (Boxed)

This is a nicely done and durable toy that provides little opportunity and creativity for play and does not interest my baby at all. The only thing it does, is bending according to the strings and bouncing back into its original shape. I bought it for my baby when she was six months old and now, two months later, she has maybe played a total of 2 hours with it. Save your money and invest it in something more useful, e.g. wooden building blocks.

Very educational for the young who are starting to learn their days and events. I absolutely love this calendar. It is easy to use and my son loves changing the events.
