This was a gift for Christmas that only lasted 10 months. Some of the activities kept my son entertained, but I can see why so many people recommend to just buy the regular Leappad. There was not a lot involved in the activities, and most of it my son already knew. The reason I gave it 3 stars is the lack of education it provided and the fact that it broke. The batteries started to die, because it would start to talk slow then turn off. Then after changing the batteries it wouldn't work and kept saying the batteries needed to be changed, after I already put in fresh new batteries twice. It was fun to see my son get some use out of it while it lasted, but I wouldn't suggest buying this unless your child is still working on the basics (letters, ... Read More:

This is a fun, durable, educational toy. My 5 yr old daughter really thought she was a true paleontologist as she chiseled and hammered her way through the rock. My only insight to offer is to do this outside! I thought we could do it indoors and I'm still finding bits of rock -- 4 days later! Some of which have scratched my hardwood floors. Duh on my part, but I learned my lesson. We finished the rest outside. It took a good 4 days of chiseling before we hit bones, it really is a lot of bang for the buck. I plan on buying more models as they come available on amazon. I was able to score this with free shipping, so keep your eyes open for offers.

We just got this tunnel for our 16-month old boy. Our local club store had a big sale on it, so we said, "why not?"
Boy, we should have gotten this two months ago! Of all the toys we've bought in the past year, this simple toy had gotten the most excitement out of our boy. If you were to quantify "fun-per-dollar", this toy did 10 times better than the next best toy.
Within a minute of setting it up, our boy was exploring it - crawling inside, pushing against the tunnel wall, laying on his back to look up, peeking out the "curtain" that is attached to one end of the tunnel, and just smiling from fun.
The next day, he started to roll the tunnel by pushing against the sidewall with all his weight. He pealed with ... Read More:

This past year for first grade science I purchased three of the Magic School Bus Science Kits to use alongside the Magic School Bus books, chapter books and television episodes to teach science. At first my 7 y.o. balked at the idea of studying "germs" but when I combined this science kit with Bill Nye's "Big Book of Germs" we took a wild ride into the land of micro organisms which lasted for 4 weeks. I would highly recommend this product to parents/teachers to engage your students in the world of science.
This kitchen is so small! My 3 year old daughter towers over it and I think she doesn't like it because it is so small. My 14 month old like it though. I can't believe this is for 3 to 8 year olds. This kitchen would come up to an 8 year old's knee. It was easy to set up, and I like that it is wood. The accessories are very nice, but I would not buy this again.
I bought 3 of these for my kids. Was it worth the $75? Not really. They use them, play with them, but for the money, I'd go with something else. For what they are, they should be considerably cheaper. My 2 year old has more fun with the empty diaper box.
