this unit was on sale, and it's for kids. Our neighbor's girls did not like Dora at all, but they still played with it. Go figure...kids. I find the graphics on the unit "ok" for the price. A game boy it's not. it's part interactive and part movie. It'll keep kids occupied while parents talk/chat...

It's served it's purpose and the girls always go straight to the system now (but now they chose Xgames or whatever it is).

this item is great for long trips and small children.It is easy for them to use.The buttons are large and it can be dropped from short drops and still works great.Has lots of movies or games to go with it to keep your young ones entertained for long trips or just around town.

My kids wanted this for Christmas so I got them one. It played good, but buying the movies that you could only watch in this machine was a money waster. You can get a dvd player that you can watch any movie on and you would be better off.

My daughter got this for a gift last week and loves it. It has a tiny screen compared to the clamshell version (XP), and for the technology now a days, the screen isn't clear, but has black dots throughout the picture screen. We already owned several of these video players, even the first black and white original version. This player is clear, and you can watch the parts move inside the player casing. Kind of cool really. We have a lot of the PVC discs, so she just loaded her TV up and watched what she wanted, on the go. These are made for children, not adults, so kids really don't mind the small screen, or the fact that it's not sharp like a real DVD player. My 5 year old son likes dinosaurs but he's not ga-ga over them. However, he enjoyed this Pixter cartridge a great deal. The video of dinosaurs was good, and he was absorbed by the detail of dinosaurs life cycles, enough so to inform me that dinosaur eggs were as big as bowling balls and that stegosauruses ate anything. In general the Pixter graphics are cheesy and the capabilities of the device are limited, but my little guy loves it.
