It's still a little too challenging for my just-turned-8 year old, but we loved working it together and she can keep at it - that's how they learn. Ravensburger puzzles are always excellent quality and the art is beautiful. Great for girls into unicorns/princesses/fairy tales and the like. My 10 year old son enjoyed helping with it as well. At the same time, we also purchased the Ravensburger Panda Family puzzle, which I would also recommend.
I love the Ravensburger puzzles, they are so colorful. Puzzles are fun, for you and your child, and by themselves, depending on their age. We have several because on a rainy day or a quiet playtime this is perfect, it also teach's them concentration and gives them a real sense of accomplishment when finished. When the children are bored and don't know what to do, just bring out some puzzles.

This is a very neat puzzle. I bought one for my 32 year old friend for her birthday since she loves unicorns and puzzles. It was definately entertaining to watch her put it together. It was pretty easy for the most part especialy since the pieces are numbered (although using the numbers kinda takes away from the challange of doing the puzzle). The last piece was somewhat difficult to put into place as if you press too hard the surrounding pieces collapse, but all in all this was a good buy.

This puzzle is beautiful, but I don't like Sunsout brand puzzles. Their pieces are very small and strangely shaped. With their tiny sharp angles, it's hard to tell which pieces are the edge ones. Also, it's often hard to tell if a piece really fits the correct spot, because other ones could fit there too. My favorite brand is White Mountain. They have nicely shaped, no-nonsense pieces and a huge variety of puzzles to choose from.
I bought this puzzle for my 2 year old. She plays with the chunky puzzles and the ones with large knobs but they were easy for her. She had no trouble with this one. She loves dressing the ballerina in all of the different combinations. We have not had a problem with the wrapping or the pieces not fitting it. This is an excellent, well-made puzzle that my daughter loves.

Numbers / Letters / Shapes by Melissa and David
These products are designed with a small light sensitive button under the number, letter or shape. Note that while I am only referring to the number game below that the same analysis applies to the letter (ABCs) and shape games. When you place the number in its appropriate slot (Example the # 2 in the number 2 slot) the game will say "two". The problem with the design is that it will also say two if your hand passes over the 2 slot while you are on your way to placing a 3 in the 3 slot. It will also say 2 if you cover the sensitivity button in the 2 slot with a 5, 6, 7, etc. I returned the numbers and letters game because the design problem of having the game calling out other numbers ...
