This game is fun for the whole family. A must own! I take it everywhere, especially during road trips. Whenever there is idle time, I whip this out and the children have oodles of fun! Sshhh, I enjoy it too!

Rubik's Junior Puzzle

Purchased this for my 6 year old, only to discover that half of the sides are identically marked. This makes actually soving the cube akin to doing it in the dark. It does not make it easier, it makes it significantly harder. Eventually we added stickers to each side to distinguish them. Once done, my son needed less than an hour to figure it out on his own. Now the baby chews on it without protest.

It is very durable I can say.

Warning! This puzzle does not fit in standard puzzle racks! Also small children who like to put things in their mouths will make short work of the edges and the pictures will start to wear off. Two years and up.

Fish Colors Mix N Match Puzzle

My 15-month old son has had this puzzle for 3 months and plays with it all the time. He loves dumping the pieces on the floor and putting them back in. He is learning his colors and likes to mix and match the pieces (which he finds very amusing). This is the best puzzle we've found.

My kids adore all of their Melissa and Doug puzzles and we love that they are challenging, yet easy to use. Tip: make sure to put all the pieces back in after each use. Every night when we turn out the lights we have a virtual concert of barks and monkey noises, but it is fun. We tell the animals good night after we identify the sounds with the kids.

These products are designed with a small light sensitive button under the number, letter or shape. Note that while I am only referring to the number game below that the same analysis applies to the letter (ABCs) and shape games. When you place the number in its appropriate slot (Example the # 2 in the number 2 slot) the game will say "two". The problem with the design is that it will also say two if your hand passes over the 2 slot while you are on your way to placing a 3 in the 3 slot. It will also say 2 if you cover the sensitivity button in the 2 slot with a 5, 6, 7, etc. I returned the numbers and letters game because the design problem of having the game calling out other numbers ... I love Melissa and Doug products. I bought this for my 16 month old and its not exactly her level yet. It was still a good investment!!! I would really recommend it for a 2 1/2/3 year old which is what it says anyway. My daughter does enjoy throwing the pieces around. HAHA!

What I like about these puzzles is that the pieces don't keep falling apart like cardboard ones do so it keeps my son from getting frustrated. The pictures also have enough interesting things happening on each piece that it is not too difficult to find the neighboring pieces.

Puzz 3D - U.S. Capitol Building

I ordered the 3-D puzzle of the capitol building as a gift for my nephew for Christmas. I did not receive the puzzle that I ordered. The castle puzzle was shipped to me instead. I contacted the company to see if I could switch it out in time for the holidays. I got an e-mail that they would send me the correct puzzle, but I never received it. The quality of the puzzle and the educational value seem to be great, I was just disappointed that I didn't get the puzzle that I had ordered. I ended up just giving the castle to my nephew instead because I didn't have time to bird dog this problem before the holidays.
