The light is bright enough for cars to see it easily but not nearly bright enough for me to see bumps (etc), however, at the price, I cannot expect it to be this bright.

I found the mounting to be very good long term but confusing initially. Now that I know how it works, it is quick on/off as needed. I can see how users broke the "docking snap" when first figuring out how to take off the light. However, I think if one is patient and careful not to force the light off the mount -- it slides off easily when done right -- this should not break easily and should become second nature quickly. The mounting mechanism (which screws on) has been very secure and doesn't budge.

Great light! Light weight: I snap it on the back of a Topeak aero wedge bag. Now I feel much safer when I ride roads with cars on the road.

My God Son loved his helmet, he wouldn't take it off. Perfect fit he just turned 2 and I got the sm/med. Colors on the helmet were beautiful.

Customer support at http://www.kentbicycles.com was very helpful in sorting through which model of V-17 helmet is for children 5+ (small shell) and which is for children 8+ (medium shell). The children 5+ small one is the one reviewed here and was only available online at the time of this purchase. The model number is 97780. If you want the small one be sure it has this model number as opposed to 97778 which is the bigger one for 8+ years old.

My son is almost 5 and still this helmet was pretty loose on him. It comes with two foam inserts, one is slightly thicker than the other. However, they are not meant to be used both at the same time. The product is a great value for money. Placing the batteries is a bit tedious though the batteries do last long enough. I never have had any problems with either of them. Plenty of diff. rhythms/sequences for both the lights. The flexibility to use the Xenon Bulb or the LED's comes in quite handy.

I wish it would have included the batteries though. The headlamp needs 4 AA batteries while the tail lamp takes 2 AAA batteries.

I would definitely recommend it since it's adequate for regular use.

I ordered this thinking that the toddler helmet would be too small for my 34 month-old, but I should've ordered a toddler size. It will be just fine in a year or two, so no real regrets about buying it.
