DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. HORRIBLE QUALITY! I made the mistake of drunkedly purchasing this product while at the BX. I should have know better; I have been skating for 7 years now and I have built many skating obstacles, ranging from mini-ramps to benches and, of course, several girndrails (metal shop was far and away the most productive class I have ever taken). This was by far the worst skateboarding-related purchase I have ever made. First of all, the image on Amazon (as well as the image on the package) is misleading. The rail is way too small to skate. And if you think having your ten year old son, or daughter(alot more girls are getting on board nowadays-pun intended) learn how to grind on this thing, think again. It is actually much harder ... Bones Skate Bearings Cleaning Unit

This is very helpful. I love it. I had no problem fitting all 8 bearings on it, with the metal spacers. So I'm not sure what that other guy was doing. Anyway, yeah this thing really does work if you use the right non-water based solvent. I used Mineral Spirits to clean about 16-24 bearings, and they all we're really dirty & clogged up... couple this thing with the mineral spirits to clean they bearings, a can of air to spray it with after... and a couple drops of bones speed cream, your bearings will have hella spin.

Flowboard Alternative Skateboard

Purchased this as a gift for my 12 year old son. The board is very well made and sturdy. He has really enjoyed riding it and it has a big initial WOW factor. However, the wheels on this board are the weak link in my opinion. They do not spin anywhere near as well as decent skateboard wheels. Adding oil helped some but I would say this board is definitely NOT for flat terrain. On small hills the rolling resistance of the wheels kills your momentum quickly. Long, steep hills are where the board really shines. Due to the number of wheels (12) maybe the manufacturer could put higher quality wheels on the board without driving the price too high.
Bottom line. If you live in a hilly area or plan to use this at a skatepark, this is a great board. Otherwise, ... Read More:

Mongoose Build-a-Board Complete Skateboard Kit

I know others have claimed these decks break easily, and that may be true. But if you have a 7 or 8 year-old who isn't jumping yet but is just learning, this is a great buy. Our son is just learning balance and steering, and so far these have really held up well for him. They look nice, and he had some "extra" fun helping his Dad put the trucks and wheels on. So, if you want to jump and do tricks, listen to the others who've had bad luck. If you just have a kid who wants to learn how to ride and put a board together, it's great!

perfect for longboards or cruisers. not ideal for trick skating but will work. i have mine on a cruiser, put it on the tail and when i break i turn heads.

My son had a gloss black helmet and it was pretty banged up, so I got this one when he ordered the RipStik. I like the flat finish.
