When I was a child we always had slot cars, I don't recall the name brand but the quality was outstanding compared to this piece of junk... This set broke within the first day, but I kept trying to make it work cause my boys love Disney cars..It was their first slot car set and was fun for them but it was more frustrating than it was worth. The cars stop working, the set won't stay together, pieces are so so cheap, btw I paid $19.95 for this at toysrus, so this price of $199 is outrageous.. I just had to say something.. I felt like I got ripped off at $19.95, but honestly anyone who pays more for this set is going to regret it...I am buying my son a Carrera Go Speed Racer set..The quality of Carrera, and Scx and Scalextric blow this away.. My 2-year-old has lots of fun with this, as do I! Easy to set up and put away, also easy to take with you on the road as it all fits back into its 'box'.

My only complaint is that some of the track pieces don't lock together securely to take the abuse from a non-graceful toddler; but i's not a major problem. Overall this is a great toy.

This is a wonderful project we have done as a family. It has introduced my girls into the toy car world, why some cars go faster, why others won't make it around a tight bend. It has promoted a little bit of thinking in my girls when we have to plan a new route. The only problem: we need more track. This one is a good beginning set, but you will quickly notice its limited extent and want to get more tracks, and more cars!

Awesome Tower Racing Set

This was purchased for a 4 year old, rough and tumble boy. Assembly took 2 adults, with college educations, several hours to figure out. Very tough if you're not used to assembling toys. But after we got it together, it worked surprisingly well. I thought for sure the car would fall off going upside down. It never did when I used it. The 4 year old did surprisingly well also. It is tough to change shape, so once it's together, generally it will stay like that, but it's all plastic parts, so can be reconfigured. The child loved it Christmas morning, and played with it a lot. The crashes were as fun as the successful runs - perhaps more so. It's a good quality product, and seems like it will outlast this little boy.
