We Love this toy and have many of the other mega rigs because of this one! It was our first one - a treat for giving up diapers - and since then we have also purchased the sub, the rescue copter, the shark ship, the snow monster, and the other piece to the space shuttle that launches into space. My 3 year old son plays with these daily. He loves that the pieces are all interchangable and he can create tons of different vehicles. We have had NO problems with these toys - Unbelievable in itself! Would HIGHLY recomend these toys to any parent.

The Big Train Round House

I got this for my 2-year old and he loves it but it is much larger than i imagined and it takes up most of his train table. He doesn't mind - he loves the doors and it is a really beautiful item - lots of detail. If your set is on the floor or on a very big table, it is great, but for a 3'x5' table, it takes up more space than i had imagined.

This was the best price I could find for this item after a lot of research on the web and in stores. Thomas merchandise is quite pricey so I took advantage of the few dollars I could save by purchasing it on Amazon. This is a great addition to the train table and my son loves it. If you have limited space on your table because of all the other Thomas track add on's like the covered bridge, suspension bridges, water tower etc...you may want to also purchase the switch track so you can attach multiple tracks to the roundhouse without taking up much space on your table. The roundhouse comes with a 5-way track but you can only attach that to one single piece of track. The roundhouse is extremely sturdy and I would expect it to last a good long ... Read More:

I usually don't write reviews, especially negative ones, but I really recommend that you don't purchase this train. I bought James for my 2 year-old son's birthday; he has a train table with lots of trains already, and I thought it would be fun for him to see James navigate the tracks by himself. The first James that I bought didn't even work out of the box. When I put the battery in, the little headlight came on, but the wheels didn't turn. So back it went in exchange for another. This time, I did some research on the battery-powered Thomas line, and discovered that many other people have had the same problem. But I thought I would give it one more try, just to see if I had a little more luck this time, since it sounded like there were also plenty of people ... Read More:

Thomas becomes more animated than ever! We gave these to our son for his third birthday. They have become a much loved part of his wooden railway system. He loves to pretend they are making trouble and giggling all the while. We've only had them a few weeks, but they seem to be very durable and have already received enough play to be well worth the cost. We highly recommend this addition to any wooden railway set.
