This was robbed of the Best Animated Feature by the overated "The Incredibles", and this is hilarious. You'll laugh from beginnning to end, I assure you.

At least that's what it meant to me. Replace "South America" in all reviews by the word "Chile", because that is where the story belongs in its cut and dry facts. A wealthy family, a Shakespearean love between a peasant's son and a land owner's daughter; betrayal, rage, passion, violence and murder, ghosts (spirits), rebelion and freedom: all these are just some of the ingredients portraid in the movie with a great line up, awsome landscape and fairly good soundtrack. If you ever visit Chile, please see this movie and you'll understand part of the Chilean character and history: under our modern facade, there's still Biancas, Pedros and Truebas.
The movie personally helped me see my own story and find new connections between myself, my family ... Read More:

Pedro Almodovar, an internationally and critically acclaimed Spanish director, takes eccentricity and neuroses to new heights in WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, one of his most well known films. Pepa (Carmen Maura), an actress, has just been left alone and pregnant by her lover. It turns out that this situation is only one of many problems that she encounters. Her friend, Candela (Maria Barranco) is having a crisis of her own. Then, there's the matter of the gazpacho that Pepa has prepared--spiked with thirty sleeping pills--but, I won't ruin that part of the story for you as to what prompts her to prepare such a sleep-inducing dish. The whole mood is comparable to a telenovela (Spanish language soap opera). The atmosphere is melodramatic ... Read More:

I must admit i didnt think i would like this HOW WRONG WAS I ,this is such a good movie i would suggest that anyone who hasnt seen it do so NOW.
The story concerns the two children of former secret agents who are now living a normal life when their parents are kidnapped the kids are told by the 'Uncle'that they have to save them
cue 90 minutes of great comedy effects driven filmmaking from Robert Rodriguez a veritable 1 man band-he wrote and directed the movie edited and produced and even wrote some of the music ,the two juvenile leads are great and so is Alan Cumming as the bad guy who turns goos there are also great turns from Robert Patrick and Teri Hatcher and the action whizzes by and it really is one of those movies you wish were 20 minutes ... The Good Things
*Lots of good action scenes.
*Very excellent, solid filming style and quality. A vast improvement over its predecessor "El Mariachi."
*Not a bad story.
*It's well written.
*Not bad characters. Maybe not as good or memorable as "El Mariachi," but they are fun.
*Good music.
The Bad Things
*Ummm...
The Questionable Things
*A fair amount of absurdity. Some may like it, others won't.
This sequel to is a tremendous improvement over "El Mariachi" in terms of style, action, cameramanship, and overall quality. Only the story and characters seem superior in the predecessor, but are still fun in "Desperado." Anybody who enjoys action films should enjoy this.

Don't just buy this dvd. Buy two copies because you will wear out the first one quickly! This is my family's FAVORITE movie EVER! It is telling that in this film, Antonio Banderas is NOT the hottest guy in the movie! In fact, he can be annoying in it. This movie needed to be longer. Maybe a few hours longer. And the leader's name is Buliwhys, not Bulvine. Just buy it.

I know this is sci-fi; but still it's a real stretch of the imagination especially with the creatures.but it was ok. I never saw the first one.

This is a very good musical with a rich overview of Argentinas history and its struggle towards democracy. Madonna is amazing and her talent is reflected in her ability to not only be a pop artist, but also a classical artist. This is a good musical for people that dont usually like musicals and for Madonna fans to see her in a different light.
