Always been a fan of the 2001 series and finally having the capability to watch 2001 on blu ray has made all the better. After I picking up the movie I popped it in to check to make sure it worked and everything was perfect, not only did it look crisp and clean but I couldn't even turn it off until I forced myself to say ok you have class get to it. A good buy and worth the time.

The War Lover simply tells the tale of two B-17 pilots in love with Daphne Caldwell (Shirley Anne Field) during the middle of WWII. To make things a little more complex (and of course a little more interesting), Capt Buzz Rickson (played by Steve McQueen) is a strong leader of his crew and the other pilot in love with Daphne is in his crew (Lt. Ed Bolland, played by Robert Wagner). The frustrating piece to Buzz is that Ed is winning the war of love.

A story about WWII, especially one about air crews. I've been fascinated for some time in bomber crews and what they went through. Several boring days waiting for a mission and then you have several hours of raw excitement as you fight your way to and from the target. The ... Read More:
Just imagine, one day your penis starts talking to you - giving you its points of view, opinions, complaints, suggestions, and teaching you life lessons. Well, I most certainly can not but I thought that the idea was interesting. The movie is a loose adaptation of great Alberto Moravia's novel (notable adaptations of his novels include Vittorio De Sica's "Two Women" (1960), based on "La Ciociara", Jean-Luc Godard's" Contempt: (1963), from "Il Disprezzo", and Bernardo Bertolucci's "The Conformist" (1970), from the book of the same name) and I thought that it was funny. Occasionally...

This movie is perhaps one of the most realistic depictions of the plain soldiering life of the foot soldier. There isn't any glamour and the men are just presented as plain men. The beginning was actually well done, and while there wasn't any talking at the very beginning; it was so well done that we didn't notice it. The music was pleasant all throughout. I thought the exchange between the yankee soldier and the Confederate soldier with the letters was especially touching. The ending is not the typical happy ending or romanticized ending that movies usually have, but rather it has a tragic and probably more realistic ending than most war movies. There is some swearing, but mostly the milder swear words and for the most part it is a pretty clean movie. ... Read More:
