I've seen this movie at least a half dozen times and love it every time. I never read the book, so I can't make a comparison but in the movie, I love the evolvution of the character of Willie throughout the story.
Besides being a heartwarming animal flick, it is a wonderful story about community.

The movie is a classic, just a bad one. It's been a while since I've seen it, but the other reviews really helped jog my memory. The movie was shallow and contrived. The main character of a movie should be liked by the audience, but Holly failed to catch my attention or respect. Her unhappiness and lack of self confidence is no excuse for her selfishness. I might have given this move a 3 star if not for the hype. The over the top praise this movie has recieved is unbelievable! I can't help being disappointed in the people who gave it a 5 star. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but still. I agree with a reviewer who wrote that Breakfast at Tiffany's is so beloved because Audrey Hepburn is in it and because the movie is in color. It's pretty irritating that ... Read More:

It was suppose to be in color, but with ongoing problems ...like always..
MGM shot it in black and white. Im so used to see Nelson and Jeanette in
black in white that i does not bother me anymore... The Love stories are
always a pleasure to watch and the signing usually melts me down.
There was some ongoing friction between the two stars when the movie was
filmed but it does'nt show. Lots of people can sing, but none can beat
the duo of Nelson Eddy and Jeanette Macdonald.....Music Gold.

andrew stevens (son of stella stevens) stars as philip kent in this first mini-series based on the john jakes kent family novels.
stevens is a french boy who learns that he is the title person after finding out that his real father is an english nobelman and heads to england to claim his birthright. his fathers family doesn't intend to let him have anything and tries to have him killed. this causes philip to flee to america, under the name philip kent , and gets him involved in the fight for liberty.
this is a very good show, even if it mainly plays like a soap opera, and stevens is quite good as philip. give this one a chance and you may like it.

I am not a fan of war films. However, a friend brought this DVD to my attention, and I was riveted by the performances and the script.
The setting is the Battle of the Bulge. Eddie Albert brilliantly portrays a cowardly captain. Lee Marvin is a colonel who totally ignores the mistakes made by Albert, thereby ignoring the safety of the platoon for which he is ultimately responsible. The platoon, however, is lead by Jack Palance, who takes full responsibility for his men. Palance has been wounded in the battle, and his to lead the men back despite his injury. The worst part is, he has to get them to safety while they have been left completely without protection!
The confrontation between Jack Palance and Eddie Albert is magnificent, exposing the behaviors of some officers ... Read More:

Yes, Shirley Temple is unbelievably cute. And her one dance with Buddy Epson is amusing. But the rest of the film is treacle, based on a highly predictable and melodramatic story designed to exploit the emotions of the masses. The colorized version, by the way, is terrible; one of the worst I've seen. What a way to kill an hour and a half.

I bought this collection after seeing Sabrina one night on tv. The three films included are really just beautiful stories, but each one is drastically different than the last. They've made me fall in love with Audrey Hepburn. I watch them over and over again, each movie is good for different moods.
The best part of any Audrey Hepburn film, imho is her personal style. I find myself trying out scarves, pearls, and other feminine items I never would have thought - all because she wore them so well.
Anyways, I just love this set. It's one of the few DVD sets I would not want to get rid of.
