One would think that movie with such an upbeat title would serve as a tribute to the law enforcers. This movie, however, continues to show the degenerate side of the law, what with more bad cops than you can shake a nightstick at. This movie is so one-sided though and lamely thrown together it does little more than confirm that there must be an awful lot of dishonest cops out there? Why doesn't someone make a movie about good cops? Oh, well, anyway this time around Marc Singer plays a second generation cop who finds himself on the wrong side of the law when he covers up for some of his more illicit buddies. Even the internal affairs head honcho is on the take. The bad guys are embodied by Michael Madsen and Wayne Crawford; Dennis Hopper is ... Read More:

The pattern of the previous films of this series by Ms Clark is partly broken. The main character is not a radio anchorwoman but a female real estate agent. We are not dealing here with a serial killer but with a real hit man hired by a dirty soiled trafficker who appears slightly ambiguous because his secular but not criminal boss, who he cheats, is Italian, or has some kind of an Italian name. But it does not have anything to do with the mafia. The whole business is a cover up operation for a first murder that the police sloppily classified as being an accident. There the pattern is not broken. The police is still sloppy. What's more the police does not succeed where a simple woman, by taking risks and using her intelligence, baits the hit man and the ... Michael Ontkean is an "Operative" abandoned for 15 years in a Russian prison. He was thought dead and even buried. His grieving "widow" has remarried for their daughter's sake. When Ontkean escapes, his former bosses try to kill him, following him home. When he finds his family in danger from the local crooked police/mayor et al, he becomes their protector. One has to suspend some logic while he is protecting them, his former employers are still trying to kill him. But it is played well. So all the classic hooks are there. This is the kind of movie that can grab you to root for the good guy. For that reason, and Ontkean's portrayal of the forgotten man, now fighting for everything, I like it alot.
