I was 5 when it came out, and it instantly became my favorite movie. For some reason, this movie popped into my head the other day, and i decided I had to get it. I can't wait to see it again. I just hope it is as good as I remember it to be.
This tape is simply not that interesting. As the title implies, the main topic is about the rooms where Churchill and the British wartime cabinet met. Beyond the fact that the room was not completely safe from a direct hit by a large bomb, there is nothing else that makes the tape worthwhile. Basic facts about the room are insignificant compared to the reality that the outcome of the war and the fate of millions was being decided by the air battle taking place overhead. Other points of the tape concern the personality of Churchill and some his actions. Vintage footage is combined with a contemporary actor playing the part. While the actor does resemble Churchill, scenes of him playing Churchill pacing back and forth dictating a letter really ... Read More:
Despite that a lot of factual information was omitted from this portrait of Buddy Holly, this movie is a compelling, insightful portrait of the mesmerizing character of Buddy Holly himself. Sure, there are glaring omissions concerning the real Crickets and Norm Petty, the 'manager' that helped Buddy get his start--nevertheless, the portrait Gary Busey paints of Buddy is a fascinating, driving and complex picture of an immensely talented, driven, and totally amazing young man who had an unerring faith in his own ability and unsurpassed talent and conviction that he understood and heralded what would become known as rock and roll....the faults in this movie can be overlooked--it is easy enough to find the truth in the in depth biographies of Buddy Holly ... This Timeless Video release is NOT the original serial but a condensed version. Like the original ran for three or four hours and this version has been condensed to 73 minutes.
There is lots of action crammed into that time span, and Lugosi is suitably creepy. There are good scenes. But it's not likely to satisfy true serial collectors.

In this movie, Gene Autry plays Deputy to William Farnum. The show is about a meat packing company who uses trucks, short wave radios and airplanes to rustle cattle. It seems that with all the modern technology, an old fashioned sheriff has a hard time catching these rustlers and a Detective agency from the East is called in, but then thanks to his loyal deputies Gene Autry and Frog Millhouse, the sheriff's department succeeds in capturing the cattle rustlers. This movie has good music, a love story, great comedy from Smiley Burnette and plenty of action. All in all, a great western in the unique style of most Autry Westerns. A Western with automobiles, airplanes and plenty of modern know how. Even though a early movie in the career of Autry, it shows a star ... Read More:
