As for the person who complained that Martin Scorcese called the '80's the "me" decade, that was a popular theme of the time. Maybe you should go back and look at 80's and the literature about it from all kind of sources. Just like the 20's was often refered to as the "Roaring" 20's. 80's was often called the "me" decade. I also think it is not a liberal or conservative designation. Following the internalization of values and desires in the 70's, the 80's was when technology, growth, income and development all led to the application of the 70's trend of an individual ethic. People DID become more selfish and self centered, more complacent, in need of more instant gratification.

This is a fantastic version of the film. Collin Firth is wonderful to watch and convincingly arrogant, yet caring and sexy. The other actors are all funny and believable in their roles. A must buy!

Watching this 1997 version of 12 ANGRY MEN recently, I was struck by the fact that four of the 12 actors in key roles here have since passed away. That has absolutely nothing to do with the film's quality, of course (or nothing directly to do with it), but it is striking that key members of this impressive cast--and of course, I'm referring to Jack Lemmon, George C. Scott, Hume Cronyn and Ossie Davis-- have gone on to that jury box in the sky.
As I say, the fact that these great actors have all died within the past decade is not a direct reflection on the film itself. But it does raise at least one issue that a previous reviewer has noted: namely, the question of the cast's relative age in comparison to the cast of the 1957 classic ... Read More:

When Carly scares her little brother with the mask in the hallway, in the backround there is a ghost sticker on the wall, I have that same thing. That was a weird connection between I do kind of like the movie. Not creepy, I don't find any goosebumps movie creepy, if you do, you must be a total douche! The effects are lame but it is still a nice movie, the scene with the floating heads was right on retarded! Carly Beth should've always been a geek so easy to scare! But they still made cool changes to the movie to make it real cool with a plot. I don't get if they are possessed or if they are just to warped up on the mask?

As a young girl I loved watching Anne of Green Gables...I remember I could never get enough of the show...I always wished it was on longer/more often, etc. So now, as an adult, I purchased this set and could not be more pleased...It's such a witty, wholesome show and I highly recommend this product for men, women, and children of all ages!

Quite possibly the best Blue Angels documentary out there. Does a great job showing how hard all the pilots and support crew work behind the scenes to get every show in the air. This will definitely leave you with a much better appreciation of exactly what goes on during an air show.

This is the story of Rory O'Manion (Pierce Brosnan) from young adult hood and his fight against the oppressive English in Ireland. From the potato famine and loss of his mother, to his love for the English landlord's daughter Rachel (Kate Mulgrew: of Star Trek Voyager),and subsequent flight to the shores of America. From poor to rich in America, but still longing for the freedom for his beloved Ireland. Also starring Linda Purl (The Exorcist), Nicholas Hammond (Sound of Music, Spiderman), David Soul (Starsky & Hutch), and Simon MacCorkindale. Very moving, interesting to watch Pierce Brosnan in the early days of his career.

The story of Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLaclan is a pioneer fiction about a family who needs a mother and a wife, and a lady who needs a home. It is sad, funny, happy, scary, exciting, and keeps me guessing.
Jacob Witting needs a helpful, hardworking wife and a mother for his young children Anna and Caleb. He puts an ad for a wife in the newspaper. He receives a response from Sarah Elisabeth Wheaton of Maine. In the early spring, Jacob goes to the train station to bring Sarah home. He dresses up and makes his hair very slick and shiny.
Sarah Wheaton makes herself at home with the Wittings. She helps clean the house. She goes and picks wild flowers with Caleb. They gather paintbrush, clover, prairie violets, roses, ... Read More:
