Thought I would finally get a decent rally game on the Mac and was totally disappointed. While everything looks good the steering is absolutely unusable. The dead zone just does not set correctly so you have to throw the wheel back and forth to get any sort of response. This surprises me since the Ford Racing works so well.
I see from other reviews and chat forums that this is a common "feature". Emailed support twice with no response.
Definitely would not recommend this until a patch is released. Then I am sure things will be as promised.

Any fan of either James Bond (your car looks like it came right from a recent Bond film) or racing/car games should seriously concider Spyhunter as their next purchase. Overall this game really delivers, you quickly become quite immersed in the game soon after starting it. Although it's rather short (only 14 missions), they still offer varied locations and weapon/car modifications to keep you interested. The only real problem is the objective based gameplay becomes a little annoying and tough every once and a while, you'll probably end up replaying a level over several times just to find out where certain targets are and how to get past tricky obsticles in the time you have (which is almost always enough fortunately). For a game made in 2001 Spyhunter ... Read More:

I really love this game! It took a few to get used to it's version of racing physics, but once I started to get it, it started to get more fun for me. I imagine that a wheel setup would be very good for this game, but I'm just not that much into gaming to have/want one.
All (most) of the cars stear/handle/sound quite different, as opposed to other racing games where only the cars skin changes. Some cars are better for some tracks (as in reality), and it's a pretty neat challenge finding which cars react best on a track.
The only drawback that I've seen is the VERY annoying requirement of unlocking/collecting cars/tracks. I like the ability to cheat in games, and this doesn't allow you to...but that's the only drawback I see.

Driving simulations, thanks to today's fast personal computers are very realistic...but this isn't one of them. Total Immersion Racing (TIR) is a Mac/PC version of an arcade game and it looks like it and drives like it. Think PlayStation and you have the right idea. Try the free download demo version before you buy.
For a much more realistic driving experience (a $55-$100 USB steering wheel and pedals set really is a necessity) try $20 'NASCAR Racing Season 2003' (NASCAR) or $30 'F1 Championship Season 2000' (F1CS2K). Don't let the dates make you think these simulations are old-they refer to the tracks, cars and drivers from that year.
NASCAR cars are big, heavy and powerful. The sim does an amazing job of modeling the feel of drifting and ... Read More:
More controversial than GTA could ever dream of being this game holds nothing back and you wind up with the most twisted game ever. Amazingly it still holds up and is incredibly playable today with damage modeling I have yet to see done half as well. Hilarious power ups and with three ways to win every level the replayability is outrageous! The only hard part is finding a computer to play it on.

This was made for pre-OSX Macs, but will work in OSX if you have a PowerPC with the Classic environment installed. It will not work with a Core Duo / Intel Mac, as these systems do not support pre-OSX software. If you are not sure what kind you have, you can click on the Apple icon in the upper left of your screen and choose "About this Mac." Look at the section describing your processor.
A fun little racer, visceral and noisy; makes you feel like you're really at the races from Episode 1.
