Hands down the funnest game I have ever played. 38y/o female. My 4 year old son loves this game. He can play some of the easier levels. He will get me on the harder ones. So many worlds to go to. I can't say enough good things about this game.

Speed Racer was a great cartoon series, and a great movie, but as a long-time car racing video game fan, I hardly expected a great racing game. I was wrong. This thing puts all of my other Wii games on the back burner, completely. For me, it is tied with GT3 on the PS2, and Pole Position on the old Atari 5200, as my all-time favorites for their respective time periods.

Currently, I've tried Grid, Forza, Prologue, etc., and this is more fun, for me. If your thing is serious, realistic, NASCAR-style racing, this is not that. In fact, it's the exact opposite. But it's a blast, easy to get into, and challenging enough for most players.

Wow. Excellent graphics... if you're coming off an Atari 2600. I played this game on my 61" 1080p dlp but everything looked blocky in the distance. Physics are good, but poor graphics and the lack of any bass (sounded like I was driving a Yugo, even with an Onkyo 705 7.1 speaker system) killed it for me. Good thing it was a blockbuster rental.

Bought this for my beau (he LOVES flying games) and he played for hours. He said he had this game for another console and this version is far better. Great game for the price!

The previous reviewers did a good job summarizing the good & bad of the product.

Pro: Fun solo game at a reasonable price
Con: Two-player issues and slow re-load times

The game is fun and addictive as you work your way though the missions/years, unlocking more car models and improving your technique. Actually, I found the game most frustrating in the early missions/years because the early cars have horrible "drift", while later models actually drive tighter and make it easier to win those later stages.

Now for the cons -- the game does indeed seem to slow down in response in two-player mode, and given the sensitivity desired for good driving technique at high speeds, it ruined that portion for me. Additionally, ... Read More:

I got this game a couple of days ago and already love it. Great features, so so story line (good for a game though), cops chasing u is also fun.
As for the controls, it takes a little time to get used to them (for e.g. how much do you need to turn the remote for the cars to turn and all that) but once u do, it is so much fun. I had difficulty controling my car when i first played it but now since i have got a hang of it, i cant stop playing it.

Would definitely recommend for those who love action packed racing games. And for 30 bucks its a pretty good deal as well.

I love this game! It's fun and it does have some flaws but it still deserves 5 stars. the story line was a little hard to follow but descently funny. turning is a little hard-but you can get the hang of it soon. the 'gear change' feature looked cool in the trailer but it's basically just pushing a button and changing boards. it costs rings: bad very bad. Some characters have to be unlocked by finishing story modes and missions. Like I said the story is ok but not great you can do the story as both sonic and jet but you have to finish sonic's point of view before you can do jet's. and there are 3 kinds of multiplayer so you can play with your friends as a team as enemies or play mini-games which are fun. i do wish though that in story mode you could pick who you are. ... This is just a port of the PS2 or Xbox game with nothing added to make it worth owning on the Wii. I bought it for my 6 yr old nephew and it's gathering dust since you don't use any motion controls for it at all. He'd rather play Mario Kart which lets him pretend he's really driving.

Not worth it.

I once played my cousin's Need for Speed game and wanted it! So when I saw it for the Wii I was excited to buy it! It's okay...it's sometimes hard to control with Wii Remote but overall that makes it more challenging. Me and my best friend play it all the time when she comes over and we have so much fun because we're so horrible at it! We roll it and we end up laughing like crazy so yeah it is pretty fun but don't completely understand it yet
