I've played the game just a few times so far, all single-player.

The adaptive difficulty engine is interesting in theory. At the start of the game, you are walked through a series of simplified game scenarios and tested on your ability to react appropriately. At the end of each test you are rated. The scenarios are in four general categories (pass offense, rush offense, pass defense, rush defense).

The problem with the adaptive difficulty engine so far is that it measures you on things that do not equate well with the hard parts of the game. I was ranked "All-Pro" in pass offense and "All-Madden" in rush offense, yet in my first couple of games I threw tons of picks and had several runs totally stuffed. So my ... Read More:

I am a longtime fan of the EA college football series. I played since the first one back on PS2. It was one of my favorite games and I've probably been through 30 years of dynasties. I was even painted up for a cameo in NCAA 07. That said, the current incarnation makes me sick to my stomach. The pass defense is beyond terrible. The defense never really does anything. They just stand there. That means that even the second string QB from 1AA Nowhere can have a 90% completion percentage on you. I improved the Virginia Tech defense over the course of three seasons to an overall rating of 99 and it didn't matter. A mediocre Cal team still carved me up for 400 passing yards and 40-some points. I play the game on my 720p TV with an HDMI connection. The graphics are incredible. Gameplay is very realistic. You have to work for every inch. The ball isn't going to automatically fall in the hole if you come close. Plenty of courses and included Pro's to keep me happy. Kudos, EA Sports!

So far one of the best of the Madden games ever made the best part is the your skill level play.
it also fun playing some old school Madden to realize how far we have gone.

MLB 2k8 I would say is the worst baseball game I have ever played. There are no good features to this game. The gameplay is so bad that it is almost impossible to play a realistic game. For one the batting is fine on pro mode, but the pitching absolutely sucks. For example I can not pitch agood game at all with dominate aces like Johan Santana. YOur closers will suck. I had K-Rod, who we know is absolutely dominate had a 9.60 ERA for me. Now that is very unrealistic. Before that I had Billy Wagner with a six run lead in the bottom of the ninth, he gives up like five home runs. Total control pitching is garbage because every pitch you throw is served on a silver platter to be crushed. Precision pitching is not much better. Batters still crush the ball. This is the new revolution to skater games no more button mashing. This game is realistic but not too hard. Tony Hawk dosent have nothin on this game. It beats it in graphics and keeps you intrested. If you dig skating like I do then realistic plays a big part in this game. Your not flying everywhere like a monkey but you can still get so air.
