we really like Rock band, it is something we all can do as a family. The price at amazon it fantastic. Only reason we left one star out is they should of did a variety of songs instead of what they have many of them we never heard of, if they had added some other main stream songs everyone knows then our friends would like it to but they didn't because they did not know the songs. Like Joan Jett I love rock n roll, Def Leppard, other bands like these. It is still fun!

Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection

As a huge fan of the MGS series I thought this sounded like the perfect set - all 3 games and accompanying features, together in one place....

....And it would have been if Konami had done it right. On with the problems of the set:

-First and foremost, MGS1 IS THE PLAYSTATION ONE VERSION. TOTALLY UNFORGIVABLE. Why Konami opted to use this inferior version over the now out-of-print 128-bit, enhanced Twin Snakes port I will never know. Additionally, this means you'll have to save to a PS1 memory card, which is an inconvenience. Including this version of the game is misleading, considering the great big "Playstation 2" banner atop the packaging.

This game features graphics you never would have thought possible on the PS2. The game also features tons of action. A guide of some sort (online walkthrough or store bought) is a must to maximize the game's potential. This is due to the fact that it's not always obvious what you must do to advance. Every few years a game comes by that knocks gaming on its ear. Grand Theft Auto III was one of those games and so is God of War II!

Well, this is my second ps2. I also have the slimline black version which I got about four or five years ago and it still works perfectly. Anyone who has had bad luck with the ps2 or any of sony's video game consoles just have bad luck! It is a good way to pass the time when you are bored. I have one for my living room and this silver one is for my car. I just hope it doesn't overheat in the summer.

I gaving a rating of one star because I can't say anything about this product since I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED IT (it was my FIRST online purchase via amazon)..the seller advised that the commercial invoice was sent, but I got notice that they are STILL waiting for said INVOICE to release my purchase. So the seller got the better deal on this occasion; he has by now spent my hard-earned money; on the other hand, I have NOTHING to show for it...se la vie!

Graphics / Design: Graphics are adequate. Characters are cell shaded nicely, environments are well shadowed and animations are fluid.

Design is not so great. Most of the dungeons are just long winding hallways and rooms with little detail. Ladders and stairs thrown in for spice. The world map dissapointed me. One, because your party is basically a blue arrow moving around, looking like a mouse cursor kind of breaks the mood. Two, becomes a sphere you walk around on the inside of, not a problem by itself, but most of it is destroyed so what you wind up with, instead of a modern urban look like Persona, is something closer to sporadic villages like most RPGs.
