Xbox 360 HD DVD Player

I bought this player for $40 from a 3rd party vendor on Amazon. I know all of the studios backed out of supporting HD DVD, but for $40, you get a great upconverting dvd player as well as the ability to play the HD DVD's available. There are a ton of sites and stores getting rid of their HD DVD's for a fraction of what Blu Ray movies are selling for.

I watched King Kong on my 720p Samsung Plasma. Quality was excellent. Now I'm buying up HD DVD's when I can - Fry's has bins of them for $10 and under.

I bought this game for my girlfriend. She and I have been playing each other for a while now, I think since Guitar Hero II came out, and this one just adds to the fun! We Can't Put It Down!

Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway Limited Edition

I have been waiting a long time for Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway to come out. There have been numerous delays and the game was supposed to come out sometime last year. Well it finally came out and I picked up the game yesterday from my local Game Retailer.

The game follows up the first two Brothers in Arms games that came out earlier. You play the role of Sergeant Matt Baker who leads squads of men through Holland during Operation Market Garden in September 1944 during World War II. Operation Market Garden was the last German victory in Europe during the war.

First off it's true the camera is bad. It's not gamebreaking bad, it's more of a flat camera than anything. Just hit Y and you bring up the mini-map and that helps a lot.
The game is hard, but if you like difficult tactics games like Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) you'll love that anyway.
Overall I'd say the game is excellent. You get to fight vampire Nazis in WW2 with your Werewolf clan using WW2 weapons in a sweet tactical RPG game. It doesn't get any better than that.

Sonic the Hedgehog

I'm sure there are people who had fun playing this installment of Sonic, the first for X-Box 360, sans the Arcade versions. I'm happy for them. I tried, I really tried. To be frank, I hated it. I didn't get too far into the game, and it wasn't due to a lack of skill. It was simply because I found myself regretting any time I wasted playing, and I was honestly bored, though that is putting it mildly. I will say it looked very pretty on my HDTV, but so did the movie Doomsday, and that isn't saying much. Cheers.

Rock Band Illuminated Drum Sticks - Blue

I thought the lighted drum sticks were a great idea, and initially I was really happy with how they looked and how they felt - they felt nicely balanced and I liked the heavier feel than the basic wood drum sticks. But like others, I noticed how much louder they were than the basic sticks, how they rattled and such, and they both stopped lighting properly after only a few days of use.

When Rock Band 2 came out, I ordered the ION Premium Drum Set, which has pretty solid drum pads. One of these lit-up sticks snapped in half within a couple of hours of playing on the new set. I sent 'em back.

Eternal Sonata

When Eternal Sonata was released, good RPGs for the Xbox 360 were not in great supply. This was a welcome addition to my library as it was musically brilliant, artistically beautiful and just fun to play. I enjoyed the story, which centered around Frederic Chopin at the end of his battle with tuberculosis. He finds himself in a dream world where he comes across a young girl named Polka. Polka has a rare ability to use magic, which in the dream world means that you are afflicted with a disease and are dying. Chopin finds that he too is able to wield magic and that Polka reminds him of his dead sister, Emilia. Yeah, so you have read the other reviews that are negative, I especially love the ones that complain about the lack of superstars in the game. Yeah, if you can't be happy with 25 wrestlers to choose from, I don't know what the problem is. The game is well done. I know it is missing things, but so are most "Firsts" in a series. TNA Impact! Tries to do a few things here that have not been done in wrestling games in a long time. It is true, if you are a button masher used to Tekken or Mortal Kombat, this game is not for you. However, if you want to think and take the time to learn how to play the game and master its awesome grappling engine, you are in for a treat.
